Visit New Hampshire’s White Mountains Region
Much of what the White Mountains Region is world-famous for, including such world-class hotels and resorts as the Omni Mount Washington and the Mountain View Grand, as well the RiverWalk at Loon Mountain, and ten of the best ski resorts east of the Mississippi (see Top Ten Ski Resorts below), is clustered in a 99-mile loop, within and along a route from Lincoln, off I-93, the White Mountains’ western gateway.
The loop begins and ends in Lincoln, and extends from Lincoln eastbound across the Kancamagus Highway to Conway, then up Route 16 to North Conway (below right), the eastern gateway, then back across Route 302, through Crawford Notch (pictured at top), to Bretton Woods (pictured in the center below), and finally down Route 3 and I-93 to Lincoln. The reverse is true, of course, for visitors arriving in Conway from the Portsmouth area via Interstate-95 and Route 16.
